Collection: Blake Munch

Blake Munch, an artist born in New York in 1996, grew up immersed in the works of Pollock, Picasso, Basquiat, Mozart, Beethoven, The Doors, Hendrix, and The Beatles. His bedroom was next to his father's art studio, where he spent his early days creating amidst blasting music.

As a child, Blake's father introduced him to art books, making images his world and colours his dreamworld. Matisse’s Goldfish became his inspiration. When his family moved to Florida during his youth, Blake continued to nurture his artistic vision. In a middle school group art show, someone approached his teacher wanting to purchase his artwork. This led to his first sale, and at the age of 10, Blake held his first solo art show at a coffee house on Davis Islands, selling all 12 pieces for $175 each.

In college, Blake pursued art and earned a scholarship. His days were filled with hours spent in the school studio or his apartment studio, often working for 24 hours straight to fuel his imagination and hone his skills. Since then, Blake has been fortunate to gain patrons and collectors who believe in his work. At 26, he feels blessed.

Blake's goal as an artist is to leave a mark, drawing inspiration from artists like Vincent, Basquiat, Monet, Bosch, Kahlo, Pollock, deKooning, Bacon, and all his mental mentors.
