Bridgeman Editions is proud to announce an exciting new collaboration with the Lucian Freud Archive. We will be presenting open editions of some of Freud's most iconic works, available for purchase for the first time, exclusively through Bridgeman Editions.
The Lucian Freud Archive, established by the esteemed British painter and run by David Dawson has entrusted Bridgeman Editions with its archive of photography for licensing. The Bridgeman Editions partnership marks a significant milestone as it is the first time the Lucian Freud Archive has collaborated to produce open editions that are certified and authorised by them. Each print has been proofed and colour-graded by the Lucian Freud Archive directly, printed on Hahnemuehle German Etching Paper in A2 with optional framing.
"Collaborating with Bridgeman Editions to bring Lucian Freud's iconic works to a wider audience is an exciting endeavour for the Lucian Freud Archive." says David Dawson, Director of the Lucian Freud Archive.
Renowned for his mastery in figurative art and uncompromising style, Lucian Freud is celebrated as one of the foremost English portraitists of the 20th century. Throughout his career, Freud's work has evolved but remained focused on the human figure, capturing the character of his subjects.
Now, art enthusiasts worldwide will have the opportunity to acquire prints of Freud's timeless masterpieces exclusively through Bridgeman Editions. The inaugural release includes 17 of Freud's most iconic works, including "Girl with a Kitten" (1947), "Double Portrait" (1985-86), and "The Painter's Room" (1944)..
"We are honoured to collaborate with the Lucian Freud Archive to bring these exceptional works to a broader audience." said Aretha Campbell, Head of Artists & Estates, Bridgeman Images.
